Dena Porter – Photography

Reflections Here And There

Originally from New York City, Dena Porter has been part of the Martha’s Vineyard community for 25 years. Dena took up photography upon retiring from a career in academia as a sociologist and an educational administrator.

Inspired by her father’s love of film photography, Ms Porter has studied fine art photography at Maine Media Workshops with Alison Shaw, and the Cape Cod Arts Association. Her work has been exhibited in Asheville, North Carolina, New York City and on Martha’s Vineyard, and she has completed commissioned works for along the East Coast. Her work has been accepted into the MV Hospital Permanent Art Collection earlier this year. She is a freelance photographer for the Martha’s Vineyard Times.

This exhibition, Reflections Here and There, has been generously supported by PathwaysARTS, and the Martha’s Vineyard Cultural Council.

These photographs are single images of reflections that were taken on Martha’s Vineyard, Mass Moca in North Adams MA., and New York City. All photos are printed on archival glossy paper with archival inks. Prints are available framed (13” x 19”) $425 or unframed (17” x 25”) $550.
