Abby Bender is the director of the island’s own community dance festival, Built on Stilts. A longtime New Yorker, Abby is enjoying her third year as a year-round Vineyard Washashore where she continues to explore life at the intersection of comedy and movement.
my dance will be a short, goofy, feel-good solo with some text and a sing-a-long between 3 and 10 mins long. Haven’t made it yet but have a loose idea… There will be a secret, surprise Passover theme if all goes according to plans. No recorded music as it stands.

Alise EveIsland Hip Hop Dance Crew
2 short pieces – “Focus” and “Jam”
Performed by the Island Hip Hop Dance Crew, founded by Alise Eve.
Kids range in ages from 8-15 and most of them have been dancing together for 3 years


What’s Written Within
Men & Women’s Improv group
Composed of Island men and women ages 17 to 89 who come together to explore the art of improvising dance, with 20 members who meet three times a week, year-round.
 The group is directed by Sandy Broyard and Sally Cohn, and has also performed at The Yard and in Built on Stilts. 

Jesse Keller
“I’m not myself you see” – based on Alice in Wonderland.
Keller Jason graduated from Ohio University with a BFA in Performance and Choreography. She started performing professionally with Stefanie Batten Bland (SBB) in Paris, France. She has performed in numerous noteable dance festivals nationally and internationally, and is a year-round island resident on Martha’s Vineyard where she serves as Director of Island Programs and Education and Co-Producer at The Yard, as well as Co-Artistic Director of DanceTheYard (DTY), The Yard’s resident dance collective.

Corinne de Langavant
De Langavant has over 40 years of experience in the creation of original, entertaining presentations for ice, street, stage and television. She founded the Martha’s Vineyard Ice Theatre in 1996 … 

Martha Eddy – Global Water Dances – via Skype Martha will talk about June 15th, 2019 Global Water Dance and our hopes for an Island event this summer.
Martha our Founder Marianne Goldberg went to college together. and worked on this idea in the past.
