Jemima James will perform a solo set.  Dan Waters & Michele Jones will do a set together and the evening will culminate with the trio of
Stan Strickland, Greta Bro & Wes Nagy.

Short bios of the players follow…

Stan Strickland has performed internationally; been featured on recordings of Bob Moses, Marty Erlich, Webster Lewis and Brute Force; performed with notable jazz musicians Yusef Lateef, Pharoah Sanders, Herbie Mann, Danilo Perez, Shirley Scott and Marlena Shaw; and has opened for Miles Davis and Sonny Rollins. He had leading roles in Boston Art Group, Northeastern University productions, and Vineyard Playhouse Productions, has performed and collaborated with choreographers including Alvin Ailey, José Limón and Bill T. Jones.
He was profiled/featured along with Blair Underwood and Lamar Burton in the documentary film Black Man Up, performed at the Sundance Film Festival, at three fashion/fragrance events for fashion designer Donna Karan and at Solstice Sing For Peace.
Strickland has a M.A. degree in Expressive Arts Therapy from Lesley College, where he is an adjunct professor, and also teaches at Berklee College of Music, Tufts University, and Longy School of Music. He is co-executive Director of “Express Yourself”, working in partnership with adolescents in public mental health residential facilities to produce multimedia performances.
Stan’s jazz vocal CD released by Hawkline Records in 2005, Love & Beauty, features new arrangements of jazz classics as well as original material. He has also been featured on three tracks as a saxophonist and vocalist on Laszlo Gardony’s 2011 CD, “Signature Time” (Sunnyside) as well as on Laszlo Gardony’s 2015 CD, “Life In Real Time” (Sunnyside) as saxophonist and bass clarinetist.

Stan received the Martin Luther King Music Achievement Award from the city of Boston in 1991, The Cambridge Favorite Musician Award in 1994, and an award for Exemplary Service to the mentally ill from the Massachusetts State House in 1996.[1]

Greta Bro’s soulful and sensual vocal style and her intensely personal approach to performing has brought her strong rapport with audiences from clubs to festivals to house concerts to college campuses. She has the ability to make each member of the audience feel as if she is singing to them alone. Her independent CD, Love’s Song, has pleased audiences across the US, Brazil, Sweden and France. The Boston Herald’s Larry Katz wrote,”The unforced sincerity and soulfulness of Greta Bro’s voice will touch you deep inside. Absolutely lovely.”

Wes Nagy – Keyboards
From playing trumpet in the 113th Army Band to producing music for Prime time Television, Wes has traveled a varied musical path matched by few. From Berklee College in Boston, to classes at Julliard in NYC, and the Masters Program in Film Scoring at USC, Wes has a background that spans many genres.
Years of playing bars, then international tours with artists like Bo Didley, Mick Taylor from the Rolling stones, Gary U.S. Bonds, Del Shannon, Dale Bozzio, Trini Lopez, Lou Rawls, Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes, Alex Taylor, etc and the list goes; have honed Wes’ chameleon-like music prowess to a fine degree. After 13 years of being based in NYC, Wes changed direction, moved to LA and was able to move up the ranks to produce music 
for shows like Drew Carey, Felicity, West Wing, Providence, American Dreams, Early Edition, Cupid, Sports Night, etc.
Wes has now retired to a quieter life style on Martha’s Vineyard and continues today with many musical projects that keep him busy writing music for independent films and projects, as well as performing live with the legendary “Grateful Dread”.

DAN WATERS  –  MICHELE JONES

Musician, poet, printmaker, Dan Waters is a multi-talented artist. One requires more than a blurb to do justice to his many pursuits. Please check out his website and read about his background growing up in Brazil which instilled a unique ear for music and simple string instruments. His poems, witty rhymes and gorgeous prints can be seen and purchased there.

Michele Jones is a classically trained music teacher who plays guitar, sings and has raised a very talented family of musicians, Nina Violet, May Oskan and Marianna Jones. She teaches singing workshops and received an honorarium fro Pathways in 2013 to develop this concept with children.
