This TUES WRITING & POETRY evening features four writers, followed by open floor readings by writers and poets who sign up.
• INGRID GOFF-MAIDOFF is a poet, author and anthologist who is well known for her many books, cards, e-offerrings and hand-made gifts.
• JONAH MAIDOFF, known for his work as a teacher at the Martha’s Vineyard Charter School, is also a writer and playwright. He is a 2016 Vision Fellow, and has developed a project-based social/environmental curriculum, Equator to the Arctic, that provides opportunities for high school students to investigate real-world climate change issues, develop environmental skills and propose solutions to the impacts of climate change.
ILKA LIST is a writer, an illustrator, and an award winning sculptor. She has a MFA in sculpture from SUNY, New Paltz and a Doctorate in Art and Art Professions from New York University. Before moving to the Vineyard to be closer to her family she worked as an art educator, environmental educator and creative art therapist for over 30 years. She continues to make art and write.
• VALERIE SONNENTHAL, writer, poet, photographer, former Curator of Dance Theater Workshop’s Gallery in 1980 through 1989….. She has been a member of Cleaveland House Poets since 2006, and currently serves as her town columnist in the MV Times, writes arts and lifestyle stories for the paper and MV Arts & Ideas magazine.
In 2008 she and photographers Edward Grazda and Jeffrey Ladd formed Errata Editions to publish a Books on Books series “dedicated to making rare and out-of-print photography books accessible to students and photobook enthusiasts.”
